Independent Living


RBH support a number of different independent living through supported housing models, which includes

  • Sheltered housing
  • Group Homes for adults with learning disabilities
  • Extra Care
  • Community support
  • Move on services


In each of these models tenants live independently, are responsible for the management of their tenancies, pay all associated costs including utility bills, council tax, contents insurance, the cost of decorating and furnishing the home. The support provision between the different models can differ as follows:-

 

  • Independent Living Schemes – on site Warden support Monday to Friday to undertake welfare visits and provide support, out of hours responder support via mobile wardens, contracted control centre and social alarm hard wired system, incorporating assistive technology
  • Group Homes – on site support provided by commissioned external agencies, some are 24 hour support provision however some are not depending on the level of need.
  • Extra care – on site scheme Manager – Monday to Friday, 24 hour care, hard wired alarm system incorporating assistive technology
  • Community Support – 24 hour responder provision via mobile wardens, contracted control centre, and dispersed community alarm unit and assistive technology. Some customers also receive a welfare visit ranging from once per week – five times per week
  • Move on services – supported by on site support provider, providing either full or part time cover.
